Progress on Immigration Reform and Border Security

New measures are helping strengthen borders, reduce crossings and speed up asylum decisions.
🚨 First day of Committee Stage for the Immigration and Asylum Bill complete ✅
The Bill will create a fairer system so asylum appeals are heard quickly, barriers to deportations are removed and the generosity of the British people is repaid.
Many people will deny these facts, and you probably won’t hear much about them in the press, but the results are clear:
• Border Security Command created
• Small boat arrivals down 40% this year
• More than 30,000 people stopped from crossing
• Those waiting for a decision at their shortest wait since 2019
• Asylum hotels reduced by half
• 80,000 people removed
• More than 11,000 were foreign national offenders
There is still more to do, but this is real progress.
We are fixing the broken system, strengthening our borders and delivering on our promise to take back control.
