Kirkleatham Walled Garden to Stay Open This Winter
Boathouse Team Steps In to Keep Kirkleatham Thriving!
An update on Kirkleatham Walled Garden that I think a lot of you will be pleased to hear.
The council have secured a temporary arrangement with the Boathouse management team, so the café and gardens will stay open and active while a proper procurement process runs to find a long term operator for the wider site. The Boathouse team will be working alongside the Head Gardener over the winter to keep the Walled Garden buzzing, with activities linked to the café and hopefully some involvement from local schools and creative groups too.
I want to say a huge thank you to Jenny and the Boathouse team for stepping in to keep the gardens active and welcoming while longer term plans are worked out.
Kirkleatham is one of the gems of our area and it's great to see it staying open for residents and visitors over winter. I'll keep you posted as the search for a permanent operator progresses.
