Today I’m launching something new for our area: Clean It Redcar & Cleveland.
The idea is simple. If you spot fly-tipping, litter, graffiti, overgrown weeds or another environmental issue, report it at TidyOurStreets.co.uk, pinpoint it on the map and help us get it to the right people.

But this isn’t just about reporting problems.
Across Redcar & Cleveland, we have some incredible residents, volunteers, community groups and councillors who give up their time to organise litter picks, community clean-ups and look after the places they call home.
Our new Community Action Map gives them somewhere to log that work, map the difference they’re making and showcase everything being achieved across our communities.
You can also advertise upcoming litter picks and community clean-ups, helping more local people find them and get involved.
And this certainly isn’t about pointing fingers or talking Redcar & Cleveland down.
We all notice when rubbish appears. What we don't always see is how quickly it disappears. Teams at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, Beyond Housing and other organisations do a huge amount of work every day, and I want us to highlight that work too.
This is about bringing everyone together, spotting recurring problems, getting issues to the right people and celebrating the brilliant people already making a difference.
